One headlight?

What is it with drivers in Seattle scooting around only one functional car headlight in the rain? Is this a deliberate trend? I see at least one car each night trying to impersonate a motor bike. Not all of them are old and beat up either. Considering that my commute is around 20 minutes long [...]

Bus Monster

The Seattle Metro site always left a little to be desired. The point to point trip planner was hard to use and the bus route maps were barely legible. Chris Smoak’s busmonster site is an awesome use of the google maps API, showing bus stops, bus routes and Seattle traffic conditions.

My neighboring blogs

More from Chandu Thota: see blogs near me, in Seattle, on a map.

Scoble wants more, and I agree with him.

Snow in Seattle

I’ve never lived in a place where it actually snowed before. Visited yes. Lived, no. So excuse me while I go gawk a little.

Good thing it melted away quickly. Not that I have to shovel driveways or anything, but I still don’t wanna be driving around in that stuff. At least not until I get [...]

Real time bus information for King County

The site design may not be the most polished I’ve seen, but content is king in this case. MyBus.org has real-time metro transit updates for buses in the Seattle / King County region.

There are even interfaces for WAP and SMS. Here’s an example for the 545 Express that runs between Redmond and Seattle.

Seattle pictures

Despite the rain Seattle is a good looking city. I’ve finally put up some of my pictures from October (only two months late).

See the Seattle album here.

Belltown at night

Tom Scanlon of The Seattle Times has an up to date listing of night spots in Belltown, Seattle.

Frye Art Museum

Cool. I just found out about another Seattle museum I should visit. The Frye Art Museum is exhibiting Wondertoonel: Paintings by Mark Ryden.

Directions to Frye Art Museum.

Snoqualmie Falls

Hiked down to the base of Snoqualmie Falls yesterday.

The falls seemed a little puny. They’re supposed to swell up during the winter season. Then again, the weather was perfect for a hike to the stream. The fresh water spray was very welcome after the heat.
