Firefox 2 and tab mix plus

Firefox 2 is out. First problem? My favorite extension, tab mix plus, stopped working. Even though the default Firefox tab behavior is much improved, it still can’t hold a candle to the level of customization I was used to. Fortunately there is a beta of TMP that you can download which works with Firefox 2.

My favorite Firefox extensions

I kept meaning to to list them all but I’m too lazy. So here’s a screen grab of the extensions I can’t live without.

Techno’s NetPopup

If you’re looking for the source code to Techno’s NetPopup you can find it here.

Notepad2

Notepad2…

Having seen mention of Notepad2 on six different blogs in two weeks, I finally had to give in.
It’s now my default text editor.

Adobe Acrobat Reader Speedup

Acrobat Reader 6 certainly is slow while starting up. In fact I would go as far as to say it’s painful when launching a PDF link from the browser. There are good tips on disabling unnecessary plugs here and here. Launch times improve dramatically.

Outlook 2003 with Lotus Notes

I’ve been waiting eagerly for this Outlook 2003 Notes Add-in. It connects to a Lotus Notes / Domino server backend. About time I got rid of one of these two memory hogging mail clients. I vote to kick Notes off the island.
